2019 Federal Budget

On March 19, Finance Minister Bill Morneau unveiled the Liberal government’s final budget before the federal election this fall. In brief, the 2019 Budget includes $22.8 billion in new spending over the next five years and focuses on areas such as housing affordability, pharma-care and seniors’ issues. The government expects revenues to steadily increase by nearly $60 billion in 2023 and projects program spending to increase by $40 billion that year. Debt payments are projected to increase by $7 billion.

We have made available a commentary on the budget prepared by CPA Canada, outlining the key proposed measures, financial implications and tax changes for both businesses and individuals. Our professionals at BGD can help you understand the effects of these measures in your personal finances and business affairs.
